What Services Are Included in a Home Care Package - Level 1?

What is a Home Care Package?
To access a Level 1 Home Care Package, you or your loved one will need to undergo an assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team - also known as an Aged Care Assessment Service in Victoria. Level 1 Home Care Packages are designed to support people who have basic level care needs. Once you’ve set your list, set up interviews with the providers you’re interested in. This is a great opportunity to ask lots of questions and get a feel for whether or not they’re a good fit. A Level 1 Home Care Package will provide you with approximately 2-3 hours of support per week, depending on the fees of your specific provider.
Level 2 is designed to support an older person with low-level care needs. Home Care Packages are in-home care services that are funded by the Australian Government to help you live in the comfort of your own home while recieving care. Your healthcare provider covers things like GP visits, medications, allied health services, and specialist services. The Level 2 Home Care Package is designed to assist people with low-level care needs. Those with a Level 2 Home Care Package receive $16,147.60 per year in funding. Level 4 Packages are often allocated to people who are living with dementia, or Parkinson’s disease.

All is not lost though, an older person can 'opt out'if they are not ready to take up a package but still retain their place in the queue, should they choose to rejoin later.
